This comprehensive growing schedule is intended for those operating 4+ Flex Farms on a Flex Connect and if you intend to use the technology for large-scale fresh food production. The below schedule will serve as an add-on to our Grow Guide & Quick Reference Guide, going into more detail on best practices for maximizing your produce production.

When aiming to maximize leaf lettuce production in your Flex Connect, the more you can maintain the below setpoints 100% of the time, the more volume you will produce per rotation.

Universal Setpoints

Ambient Air:

  • Air Temperature: 65 F - 75 F

  • Relative Humidity: 50 - 70%

Balanced Water:

  • pH: 5.5-6

  • Nutrients: +700 above baseline (+/- 100)

Produce Production Planning

This growing schedule is directed toward a monthly production average of 18-30 lbs (depending on the varieties grown) of leaf lettuce per Flex Farm. The growing cycle is separated into two growing areas: the Sprout Tower & the Flex Farm.

Seeds are started in the Sprout Tower for the first 14 days and then are transplanted into the Flex Farms for the last 28 days. This completes the 42-day (6-week) growing cycle. Your Flex Farms will be broken up into 4 groups (rotations), so you are then Germinating, Transplanting, & Harvesting on a weekly basis.

Ex: If you have 12 Flex Farms, 3 Flex Farms worth of lettuce will be Harvested, Seeded & Transplanted each week. An example of a typical rotation schedule. We recommend copying and pasting this format into your own sheet to manage your farm rotations.
